Sting is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, a British musician. Prior to starting his solo career, he was the principal songwriter, lead singer and bassist of the rock music band The Police. As a solo musician and member of The Police, Sting has sold over 100 million records, and received sixteen Grammy Awards for his work, receiving his first Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1981, and receiving an Oscar nomination for best song.

Sting spoke out on behalf of indigenous people in Brazil who seek the government’s audience on concerns over a proposed hydro-electric dam in the Amazon.
The UK rocker gave a press conference in Sao Paulo that summoned a similar one he gave 20 years ago that drew worldwide attention. He said Brazil was in the frontline of the fight against climate change and its voice was now more important that two decades ago.

Sting has revealed he once came face-to-face with a ghost in the middle of the night.
The 58-year-old former Police frontman said that his wife Trudie Styler also saw the figure standing with a child in the corner of the room.
He made the revelations in a new interview on BBC Radio 2 and said he has also seen flying objects.

I was reminded of this song today after I heard it played on the radio. I had forgotten how truly beautiful it sounds. I am not a huge fan of Sting to be honest. I have nothing against him, it's just not my kind of music. Having said that...this simple repeating phrase, the clever and meaningful lyrics and a stunning vocal performance that is jammed full of expression...all add up to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
