Knowing this, a person is more likely to be able to help talk themselves through a panic attack in order to calm themselves down.

You should also be able to work on breathing deeply in order to try and calm the body with slow breaths that are made from the diaphragm.

These people need to have a better attitude towards themselves, and realize that the panic attacks are out of their control. They need to have realistic expectations for stopping panic attacks, and to reduce them by reducing the situations that cause them. Smoking, drinking alcohol, and caffeine should be eliminated or significantly reduced because they also can trigger panic attacks.
