Strawberry Shortcake Sweetness

What does Strawberry Shortcake have to do with Christmas and the holiday season? For anyone with little girls in their family, the answer is clear. Strawberry Shortcake is a really great Christmas gift and the options for gift choices seem to have no limit.

When my stepdaughter was two, her passion was Strawberry Shortcake. It was a strange transition for me because I was used to how Strawberry Shortcake looked when I was little, and I had a clear memory of all the little cartoon shows. I managed, though, because parents have to go with the flow when it comes to the changing of the times.

My stepdaughter is eight now and, despite the fact that she doesn’t play with the toys anymore, she still loves the activity books, storybooks, games and some of the decorations. When I was little, I enjoyed creating crafts with a Strawberry Shortcake theme with my mom for our Christmas tree. One of these crafts was what was called “Make-it Bake-it.” We filled these metal shapes with colored crystals following a color pattern given with the kit. It was very tedious and we found ourselves making corrections with tweezers throughout the entire process. It was great quality time though, and we talked about anything and everything throughout the process. To this day, I still have my Strawberry Shortcake Christmas ornaments hung on my tree.

We also made plush ornaments of Strawberry Shortcake and all her friends using a quilting type material we cut from a large piece.
