Strawberry Shortcake Party Ideas

Strawberry Shortcake is the sweetest theme for a little girl’s party. Not only popular today, but Strawberry Shortcake has proven to be a timeless classic. Moms may remember their own fondness of Strawberry and friends.
Invitations: Make your Strawberry Shortcake birthday party invitations in strawberry shapes. Cut the shapes out of red construction paper. Decorate one side with black oval shaped dots (seeds) and the text - "Your invited to a Berry Special Birthday Party!" Write all the party details on the other side. Fill a clear cellophane bag with green paper shreds or easter basket fill and strawberry-wrapped candies, then put the strawberry shape inside the bag. Tie each bag with a pink ribbon, and then attach a name tag to the ribbon.
Decorations: Decorate your Strawberry Shortcake birthday party area in red, pink, and lime green colors. Have lots of balloons and paper streamers throughout the area. Put dots on red balloons with black markers and attach green streamers for stems and felt for leaves to make the balloons look like strawberries. Make strawberries out of construction paper and tape them to the walls of the party area. Decorate your furniture and windows with Strawberry Shortcake dolls, a bowl (or wagon) filled with fruits, and light strawberry scented candles. Hang Strawberry Shortcake posters on the wall. Fill a few vases or clear bottles with red and pink flowers. Twist paper streamers to make them look like vines, and hang them in the area. Blow up helium balloons, and then let them float around the ceiling.
Crafts: Make Strawberryland Caps . All of the characters in Strawberryland have their own special hats. The c.hildren at your party can make their own hats to take home. Use Craft foam visors, solid coloured baseball caps or straw hats as a base. Use stick on jewels, shapes, feathers, gel pens etc. to decorate the special caps. If the season allows, plany your very own strawberry plant in a small planting pot for the guests to take home and nurture.
Games: "Berry Mash" - Blow up red (strawberry), blue (blueberry) and magenta (raspberry) latex balloons. Place some small prizes (e.g., theme stickers, candy, etc.) in some of the balloons. On the command "Go," have the kids stomp on the balloons to get prizes. (Before the game, explain to the kids that if they get more prizes than some other players, they have to share.) Berry Patch Hunt- Before the Strawberry Shortcake birthday party, string a ball of green yarn (strawberry vines) around the yard, making sure to go around, through, under, and over as many objects as possible. Menu: Strawberry Rolls: Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on several tortillas. Top with a layer of strawberry jam and roll up each one. Cut each tortilla roll in 3 sections.Spread several other tortillas with cream cheese. Cover the cream cheese with a layer of thinly sliced lunch meat and lettuce. Roll up each one and slice in sections as before. Spear with frilly toothpicks to hold the rolls together. Chocolate Covered Strawberries.
