So I recently got a test with a 1/10 chance of producing a false negative (the purpose of the test was to see if I have strep throat). When the result was negative, I was unconvinced and thought I should take another more accurate test. What surprised me was what the doctor said was an alternative. He suggested I take 2 of the less accurate tests in a row and that doing so would give me only 1/100 chance of a false negative.Doesn't it depend...
