Sue Simmons Drops the F-Bomb

It's not uncommon for people to curse, honestly, who doesn't? But it's rare to see a seasoned news anchor drop the F-word on national television.

But that's what happened Monday night, as Sue Simmons, a 64-year-old veteran anchor for WNBC-TV in New York, yelled the obscenity during a promo for the 11 o'clock news. 64-years-old? That's almost as old as my grandma, she shouldn't be using language like that! Honestly!

And no, she doesn't have turrets. Simmons was teasing a story on the high cost of groceries, when tape of a cereal box switched to footage of a cruise ship. The slip caused the anchor to shout," What the F--K are you doing?" off camera at a still unknown person. Then, the screen went black.

The 11 o'clock news rolled around, and a not-so-happy Simmons, began the newscast as if she hadn't just yelled obscenities like a mad woman at her ever-loyal New York audience.

About 10 minutes into the broadcast though, Simmons cracked and apologized to the viewers. "I have to acknowledge an unfortunate incident," she said. "I used a word that many people find offensive. It was a mistake I made and I'm truly sorry."

You should be! Hopefully she apologized to that poor person she yelled at off screen.
