LAS VEGAS â Designed to evoke the emotions of classic sports cars, the Pontiac Solstice SD-290 race concept captures the purposeful design of vintage racecars. The design is dramatic, featuring a passenger cockpit tonneau cover and a driver windscreen, creating a pure racecar that looks ready to take the checkered flag even while sitting on the starting grid. Aerodynamics have been improved and the SD-290s weight reduced with the removal of the windshield, side glass, window regulator... Read Full Story

Sunrise at 6:23 this morning, sunset at 7:22, or 13 hours of daylight. The equinox is about two weeks away and the length of day is shortening by around three minutes daily. So far there are no trees nearby that have begun to change colour—too much rain in July, too much sun in August for them to consider flaming out yet, I guess—although a few have begun to do so north of the city where the temperatures a few night has been just above freezing. This year June 21st lands on a Saturday, a time of several major and intense sports matches so dates of celebration during this time have scattered. The real Summer Solstice, or Midsummer, or Litha (a Saxon name now adopted by modern neo-pagans) date was June 20th this year. It was a beautiful evening and I was kicking myself as I... It's been an interesting couple of weeks at the Bristol Faire. The changing of the different shows is sometimes a sweet sorrow. Last weekend was the last of the Dead Bob show, the weekend before that Commonly Unbalanced left to go on to other faires as they travel the circuit and work all over the US. Our sister faire in upstate New York opened last weekend. It's always fun to see who will arrive to take that slot in time as the year unfolds with lots of fun and entertainment. Just outside...
