Universally considered a classic of the medium, Super Mario Bros. featured bright, expansive worlds that changed the way video games were created. When it has came down to video game chartacters, nobody has been more relevant and more driven than the success of Mario. Nintendo's formula has always been tried-and-true, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii is proof that once again repetition isn't a bad thing when the mechanic is near flawless. Essentially an extension of the DS title, the Wii iteration becomes a whole new game when multiple players join the game. The graphics are cute and colorful, the inclusion of the koopa kids brings me back to my childhood, and simultaneous co-op is what Mario games have been needing these past years. I can't get enough of... Read Full Story
The only really bad thing about New Super Mario Bros. Wii is the excessively long title. Nintendo could have been justified in simply calling this game Mario Bros. 4 or Super Mario World 2, because it fits right in with the legendary series of 2D games from the NES/SNES era.
Mario is one of a very few characters who survived the jump from 2D to 3D. Mario 64 was revolutionary, and Super Mario Galaxy even more so. So it might seem odd that Nintendo would go back to a traditional side... Read Full Story

If yes to any of the questions above, you owe it to yourself to play this game. It is a fantastic entry to the Mario series, and it is a pity we haven't had a 2d Mario title like this in over a decade.
Some thoughts: Gameplay. It's Mario. Level design is fantastic.

Video games wouldn't be the same without these two brothers. They have revolutionized the gaming industry in the past, and they have struck again with a vengeance. New Super Mario Bros. No other game out there has really made a "high-tech statement" like this; it epitomizes the bread-and-butter society we live in. NSMBW definitely lives up to it title of... Read Full Story
