Medewi is on the northern half of Bali in Indonesia. The Medewi break is a long left.

Medewi was my favorite break when I surfed in Indo because it was a left (and I'm a goofy foot) and it is a point break that works for a longboard. Most breaks in Bali are over reefs and barrel, making things too steep for a longboarder. But Medewi stays mellow even on big swell days.

Bring a deck of cards - there is ZERO to do in the town, no nightclubs here.  There are a couple of small restaurants but that's about it 3. Bring a spare surfboard and a board repair kit.  There is a small "surf shack" on the side of the road ... Read Full Story

Medewi Beach If it wasn't for the big sign announcing its presence as you come up over a rise, driving west along the Jembrana coast, you'd never know it was there. Medewi lies in the middle of bali's most sparsely populated and least developed district, the far-off regency of Jembrana 75 kilometers from Denpasar on the main road west (2.5 hours) or 34 kilometers west of Tabanan. All that can be seen are a string of houses and a solitary mosque along the highway. This tiny and remote tourist enclave, at the end of a 500 meter-long asphalt road, is actually one of Bali's ... I see no point in killing animals just because they may or may not be infected. But, this is happening in Bali right now, ongoing, in an effort to eradicate Rabies on the island. Healthy dogs are being slaughtered senselessly, principally because Rabies is associated with dogs. I suppose it is the Bhuddist in me [...]
