Just weeks after Connie Culp showed the world the results of her technologically ground-breaking face transplant, James Maki has done the same. BOSTON, June 18 (UPI) -- The recipient of the second U.S. face transplant, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, said he started to feel his smile days after the surgery. When James Maki fell onto the third rail of a Boston subway in 2005, he was left with severe burns and a disfigured face.
