Eric Lowen and Dan Navarro are one of the most beloved songwriting teams in music history, their hits include pop-rock standards such as "We Belong," "Keep The Light Alive," "If You Loved Me Like That," "You Stay On My Mind," and many more. Then sadly, Eric Lowen was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.) According to the Keep The Light Alive website, ALS is a "neurodegenerative disease that usually attacks both upper and lower motor neurons... Read Full Story
Second retro feast with Matthew Sweet due in July
Fresh from paying tribute to seminal ’70s punk band The Runaways at a Hollywood show promoted by Daisy Rock Guitars, Bangles member Susanna Hoffs is set to herald even more artists from those bygone days with the second installment in her Under The Covers project with Matthew Sweet. Volume 1 was released back in 2006 and found the duo duetting on covers 15 of their favourite songs from the ’60s, most notably Neil Young’s ‘Everybody Knows... Read Full Story
The Bangles , one of the great girl bands of the 80's are back in the studio, and fans are eagerly awaiting the collection of new songs and covers (Bangles always like to "mix it up" in their music selections.) Susanna Hoffs (left), and the Peterson sisters, Debbi (centre) and Vicki (right) will be working predominantly as a trio, since they are currently without a regular bass player following Michael Steele's departure in 2004, and a string of on-and-off fill-ins. An update from Gracie... Read Full Story

Oh Susanna! Before we headed to the concert, we had dinner at Sergio’s at the Hilton, where the bartender professed his love for the Bangle and wished he were going to the concert too. Twenty years after their biggest hits, she still looks great and is a 16-year-old kind of thin. Debbi Peterson is in command on drums.
As we go bravely into 2009, those of us at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa could forget our worries while enjoying a return to ’80s... Read Full Story

Under The Covers Vol. 2 •••
Shout! Factory
Funny things, cover versions. Sometimes approached with trepidation, sometimes with reckless abandon, but most of the time offending someone, somewhere. On the surface of things this may seem odd. The theatre doesn’t usually suffer from this phenomenon, for example; people are rarely in uproar over “exciting new productions” of ‘Death Of A Salesman’ set in a dystopian future on Mars. The performing arts are... Read Full Story
I didn't get a chance to hear it but Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs brought their act Sid N Susie to KBig (I think?) this morning. I don't know if they do it or not but if I was thems I would do a lot of George and Gracie Burns type vaudevillian banter between songs in concert. Seems like Sweet has an adoring and loyal fanbase and girls and dudes alike dig Hoffs so the audience would be all. over. dat. Their second album called Under the Covers Volume 2, came out on July 21st and features... Read Full Story
Susanna Hoffs and the Bangles are back on tour. If you didn't get enough of walking like an Egyptian the first time around, the Bangles are coming back on tour. Still fronted by Susanna Hoffs , the group spoke to CNN about the joys of being back on the road. From an article at CNN : CNN: What's it like performing together now? Is it easier or more enjoyable than it was in the '80s? Susanna Hoffs: For me, it is. One nice thing about getting older is that we're better musicians, and we play... Read Full Story

While shoulder pads and big hair are no longer part of the Bangles' repertoire, those glorious harmonies remain. The '80s band (whose members aren't entirely sold on that description) recently powered through a set at Sirus XM Radio's New York headquarters as part of the company's "Artist Confidential" series. An audience of happy fans watched from outside a studio as Susanna Hoffs and sisters Vicki and Debbi Peterson attempted to rattle the glass walls with the melodious "Manic Monday" and...
