Syesha Mercado has picked up the Deena Jones role in a national touring production of Dreamgirls. That's the role that Beyoncé played in the film version of the musical. "Dreamgirls" has turned to an "American Idol" alum to play one of the leads in the upcoming stage revival of the musical in New York City. Moya Angela will play the pivotal role of Effie White in the production. Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar for her portrayal of Effie in the film. The season is winding down. Here is my very abbreviated review for tonight’s show. David Cook: First song, Meh. Didn’t move me. Second song, one of my favorite rock songs of all time. Ruined it.
