What symptoms can MRSA cause?
MRSA can cause pimples or boils.
The affected areas may be swollen, painful and red.
If MRSA bacteria gets into a person's blood stream, usually through a deep cut, it can spread throughout the body and cause other infections, including:
- wound infections
- abscesses
- septic arthritis (joint infection)
- heart valve infections
- urinary tract infections
- pneumonia (lung infection)
- septicaemia (blood poisoning)
- osteomyelitis (bone infection)
