Is Washington reaching out to Tehran via Damascus?

A little story that slipped through the net in many papers is the report that for the first time in five years a senior Syrian diplomat is visiting Washington, DC for talks with the Obama Administration. Syria has a reasonable relationship with Iran, both have been pariah states to the US for yeas, and so have banded together for support. However, if the Obama regime can rebuild the bridges with Syria and bring them back in from the cold, it opens a back door to negotiations with Iran... Read Full Story

Damascus Gate Restaurant, The Worlds Largest Restaurant

Most high-end restaurants you'll ever visit are medium-sized, able to handle relatively large crowds if need be, but better equipped to keep the numbers low. Other restaurants are a bit larger, offering a cafeteria-like setting, handling hundreds of people within its walls. One restaurant, the world's largest, by far, is like an amusement park. There's really no logical way to describe the sheer size of Syria's Damascus Gate. The gargantuan scale restaurant primarily serves people outside... Read Full Story

Israeli Occupation Places Baby under House Arrest

In an arbitrary act that is probably the first of its kind in human history, the Israeli occupation forces placed one-year-old baby Fahd Shuqeir under house arrest for two years simply for being born in Damascus. This act is one of the many similar actions that aim at oppressing the people of the occupied Syrian Golan's villages and towns. The Israeli occupation used these tactics since the first day of Golan's occupation in 1967 in an attempt to evict the people of these villages and seizes... Read Full Story
