Seahawks Ink T.J. Houshmandzadeh to a Five-Year Deal

The Seahawks made a pretty big free agent splash on Monday, as the team came to terms with Bengals free-agent receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh on a reported five-year deal worth $40 million.
Houshmandzadeh is a solid wide out, catching 204 passes in the last two seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. He right away becomes the Hawks number one receiver, as last year Bobby Engram was the top pass catcher with 47 catches.
“I just felt it was the best destination, it was the best team, it was the best choice for me,” Houshmandzadeh told ESPN. Houshmandzadeh teamed with Chad Johnson to give the Bengals one of the best receiving tandems in the NFL in 2005, when Cincinnati had its only winning record in the past 18 years.
In the last four seasons, Houshmandzadeh has the most receptions in the league with 372, more than Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald (368) and Carolina’s Steve Smith (351).
