Original Five 'Big Bang Theory' Stars Take Pay Cut to Help Mayim Bialik & Melissa Rauch Get Raises
Say whatever you want about these nerds, but they can do the math.
Teamwork is the real dream work.
CBS' juggernaut comedy The Big Bang Theory is currently up for a two-season renewal which would bring it's run to an impressive 12 seasons! The news is great for the show's main five cast members who are currently raking almost $1million per episode.
Unfortunately, things aren't so out of this world for everyone on the show. While Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, and Simon Helberg continue to collect their near Friends-level paychecks, they have collectively decided to take a pay cut of $100,000 each in order to give their co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch a raise. The change would be implemented for the potential 11th and 12th seasons.
Both Bialik and Rauch have been on the show for the past seven seasons, and they earn approximately $200,000 per episode. The original five's pay cut will make available an extra $500,000 per episode that can be split evenly between the two actresses. That would bump Bialik and Rauch's episodic payments to $450,000 each.
Now this investment just proves that the cast of The Big Bang Theory is super supportive and all about gender parity.
