Of all the amazing moments Arya has had on 'Game of Thrones', this was one of the very best.

Let's talk about what happens when two of the fiercest females in Westeros go head-to-head in a friendly battle.
Arya finally made it back to Winterfell on Sunday's Game of Thrones, meaning long-awaited reunions with her sister, Sansa, and her brother, the Three-Eyed Raven formerly known as Bran. These reunions, however, looked a little more like cautious relief than unbridled excitement. It wasn't until the Lone Wolf saw none other than Brienne of Tarth practicing with Podrick in the courtyard that she really got a glint in her eye.
At first Brienne didn't want to battle Arya, but the youngest Stark girl is no fool.
"You swore to serve both my mother's daughters, didn't you?" she challenged, and it was decided.
Arya has had many moments of glory on GoT, but the second Brienne realized she had a worthy opponent in a young girl less than half her size, our eyes lit up with the both of them. Not only was Arya worthy, but she bested Brienne in several rounds. Arya's agility and technique seemed the ideal match for Brienne's brute strength and experience, and suddenly, years of tough training fueled solely by determination and a need for revenge was validated.
It was an understated moment, but a special one nonetheless: Arya was good enough to hold her own against the most famous female solider in Westeros. There was no shock value, no blood and gore necessary. It was simply a quiet moment of satisfaction... Arya deserves more of those, don't you think?
Game of Thrones returns to HBO August 16, 2017.
