Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa is an MMORPG that has been in open beta since May and is set for a fall 2007 release.
He's considered the father of the MMO genre and one of the key pioneers of computer gaming, but with the announcement of Seiko's Spring Drive Spacewalk, Richard Garriott can add another accolade to his résumé: living merchandising opportunity.

Last night the wife and I had finished up a bunch of quests in the Concordia Wilderness and were looking to get into some heavy duty combat. We had some quests that were telling us to go to the Crater Lake Research facility, another instance in Tabula Rasa. LAS VEGAS -- NCSoft's new president Chris Chung might not be willing to say just which game of theirs is coming to consoles first, but was at least willing to let us know when we'd be getting our first look at it.
Speaking with Wired at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Chung said that his company should have "something to announce--not only announce but to show--by the second half of this year. I'm pretty psyched about that."

One of the coolest things about Tabula Rasa is being able to fight with and heal NPC's while engaged in a large battle. This makes the world truly seem interactive. I got involved in one of these fights today and it was pretty insane. Basically I was trying to make my way across Memory Hill, about to hit level 14 so I was handling stuff pretty easily.
