Takuma Sato, who drove the #5 KV Racing Technolog-Lotus, was the first to crash at the Indy 500 today. He crashed on the 21st lap of the race and was taken out shortly after. The race kicked off just a bit ago, and remained crashless for the first 20 laps! Takuma Sato was encouraged by his Super Aguri team's performance in practice for the Canadian Grand Prix on Friday.
The Japanese driver posted the 10th quickest time of the afternoon session after having finished in 11th in the morning.
