Fundamentalist Christians are up in arms about lots of things now that a decent, moral and ethical human being is residing in the White House. One of them is the perceived threat that the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" will be reinstated, requiring broadcasters using the public airwaves to present both sides of an issue. Randi Rhodes of Air America fame is off the air, as a dispute between her and her employer, Nova M Radio , reached a climax earlier this month. Last week, Nova M Radio filed for bankruptcy, and another liberal network rose from the ashes like the Phoenix of mythology, after which the city in the desert is named, which the now-defunct radio called home. The Fairness Doctrine offers hope for Julio Osegueda , who has worked at McDonald's for four and half years and aspires to be a disc jockey one day. After watching the CNN Obama fluff piece in which they interviewed Osegueda , it's obvious the Fairness Doctrine is this kid's only hope to get on the airwaves, other than accepting the night job at a small station in western Kansas.
