New Miss California Tami Farrell Baked Cookies, Brownies for Donald Trump

So how did Tami Farrell manage to become the new Miss California USA? Well, it probably doesn't hurt that she's been so nice to the boss.

When asked by FoxNews about schmoozing up to the Donald, she said it's all true.

"Yes I used to bake him cookies and brownies! I’ve got a good working relationship with Mr. Trump, it is always good to have him on your side."

Indeed. Though Farrell's good fortune probably has more to do with the behavior of her predecessor. After reading a transcript of the email messages between the dethroned Miss Cali Carrie Prejean and pageant director Keith Lewis, it's obvious that Prejean was incapable of developing a productive working relationship with her handlers.

So what's the difference between Farrell and Prejean? Well for one, she doesn't have the Prejean bitchface. And one can only imagine that anyone is easier to work with than Prejean. In appearances on Larry King Wednesday and the TODAY show Thursday, Farrell was engaging, well-spoken, and basically more likeable than her predecessor. Also, she didn't get hung up on a certain controversial issue that Prejean couldn't stop talking about.

When asked where she stood on same-sex marriage, Farrell delivered a practiced, but practical answer.

"It’s silly with all this controversy that the world is looking to beauty queens for the answer," she said.
