I tend to get wrapped up in football and negative off-the-field actions by Vikings players. For some reason, us bloggers forget that fans like to hear good things about their players as well.
For example, I recently neglected to mention that Madieu Williams made a hefty donation to his Alma Mater during the bye week… a donation that even floored Antoine Winfield.
“Two million dollars?” Winfield asked amazed. “Wow. I thought he was nice. Generous, too.”
The donation will go a long... Read Full Story

Tarvaris Jackson has tried to tune out all the chatter about Minnesota's quarterback situation this offseason, but he can't make a clean escape. The latest opinion came from teammate and defensive tackle Pat Williams, who in a recent radio interview urged Jackson to work harder — reiterating a challenge he's issued to him often. "This ain't college no more. This is the NFL. You have to put in more time than you are used to putting in," Williams told the Sirius satellite radio network. "If... Read Full Story

Looks like the fans are not the only ones getting upset with QB Tarvaris Jackson. DT Pat Williams took a shot at the QB during an interview on NFL Radio, saying that the QB has to work longer and harder in order to get better and make it to the next level. The Vikings will stay with the hot hand, as Tarvaris Jackson will stay at quarterback Sunday against Atlanta. Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell made the announcement today. Jackson was benched after the Vikings started the season 0-2, but has played very well in place of the injured Gus Frerotte over the last two games.
Frerotte hurt his lower back in the first half against the Lions two weeks ago. Jackson has completed 70 percent of his passes for 268 yards and five touchdowns in six... Read Full Story
Well, the other night when I sat down and was trying to figure out how to approach this whole Brett Favre thing I realized there wasn’t much to say that I (or a million other people) hadn’t already said during the previous 4 months. So, I checked out what other folks were writing, and the amount of pure content out there regarding Favre is astonishing. Here’s a look at what some of our friends had to say:
The Daily Norseman thinks Chicago has delusional fans .
Maybe the locker room... Read Full Story

No matter how you spin the recent allegations against Ben Roethlisberger, it is a sad day for football. Either he’s guilty and yet another of the NFL’s great players is proven to have poor character, or he’s innocent and the young lady making the accusations is yet another example of the dangers that come with the fame of playing the sport at an elite level. I have to admit that no matter how this thing turns out, I hate that the story even has to exist.
However, I do think that these... Read Full Story
