Daniele Bennati, a sprinter for Team Lampre in the Tour de France, was able to win the final stage of the 2007 Tour.  He took the win in Stage 20.  It was the Italian sprinters second stage win in four days. Bennati had a great 2007 Tour.  He got Team Lampre on the podium multiple times and secured extra TV coverage for his sponsor. But he didn't win the overall classifications. Alberto Contador (Astana) sealed the deal by winning the 2008 Giro d'Italia, finishing 11th on today's final time trial stage into Milan.
