Well today was the Clasica San Sebastian. It was a 225 kilometer race in the north of Spain. It included six climbs within the 225 kilometers. Leonardo Bertagnolli, with only 5 days of racing total this year, made an attack with 300 meters to go and edged out Juan Manuel Garate for the victory. Apologetic Tour de France green jersey champion Tom Boonen has been barred from next month's race in the wake of a positive test for cocaine. Tour director Christian Prudhomme made the decision to bar Boonen after consulting the rider and his team, although all three have said there is no implication that Boonen is a cheat. The winner of last year's green jersey for the race's points competition tested positive in an out of competition control by the ministry of the Flemish Community on May 26. A Belgian court dropped criminal charges Tuesday against former world cycling champion Tom Boonen for alleged cocaine use. The court, in northwestern Turnhout, said Boonen had "been punished enough" after his positive test for cocaine in an out-of-competition doping control kept him out of last year's Tour de France. "Tom has been punished in public and financially. We hope it has been a lesson for him," said Boonen's Quick-Step team leader, Patrick Lefevere. Got some news from Velonews Today. The Tour de France Officials have decided to not issue the number 1 jersey out this year. Over the past years the jersey number had been given to the previous years winner. Since there has been no decision yet on if Floyd Landis will be given the title or if the runner-up Oscar Pereiro will be. According to Velonews Oscar will be given the lowest number that is available. But on some better news I have got some more team rosters for the Tour. Quick Step's Tom Boonen won the third stage of the Franco-Belge stage race on Saturday in a sprint finish ahead of England's Roger Hammond (Cervélo TestTeam) and American Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Slipstream).
