I've had the Zune HD for a few hours and can say that from just today's experience, it's been the been the most user-friendly device I've used in quite some time. The transition from my Toshiba Gigabeat only took about an hour and a half and happened without a single error of any kind. Performance of the device was more than snappy, audio is crisp and rich in harmonics, and the screen is vivid and beautifully crafted. The Zune HD is the best thing that ever happened to me. I was so surprised how hassle-free and easy to use the new software and UI are. The selections of music and videos is excellent. The software is wayy less buggy than itunes, it loaded in less than 2 seconds. The audio quality is supurb and my overall impression is that this is better than any ipod or pmp. As I sit here with my new Zune HD in my hot little hand, I am beyond stunned to learn that the Zune software will not install on Windows XP 64 bit version. I suppose Microsoft finds it more important to try to force me to downgrade to Vista 64 instead of making a happy customer. And no, I am not one of those mindless Apple fanboys that hates everything Microsoft, but I definitely feel their hate right now.
