I’m not talking about late twenties to early thirties, but high school teens to college age women. We all know this is the time when most young people explore the nature of dating. Is it me or is this phrase some what overstated? I mean, Black Women carry a lot of responsibility by herself, including taking care of the kids, the house, the two jobs, the go-to person. Do people expect a Black Women to be stress-free? Whoever coined the term must have been drunk. “Strong Black Women” has actually done more harm to Black Women than good. To society, we are seen as the culture bearers and community builders. We’re all familiar with the Jena 6, Sean Bell, O.J. Simpson, and the Duke Lacrosse case. Each case involves either a black man as the victim or the white man as the perpetrator. But what about Black on Black crimes where the victim is a Black women?? Jena 6 received huge support from the Black community and massive TV coverage like, Dr. Phil, CNN, FOX, ABC, etc. But can anyone recall the Dunbar Village attack?? A doctoral student at American University is conducting a study on Biracial adults with one African-American and one European-American biological parent. The questionnaires will require approx. one hour to complete, and will be mailed to your home with a stamped return envelope.
