The Colbert Report is a satirical television show on Comedy Central that stars comedian Stephen Colbert, best known previously as a senior correspondent for The Daily Show.
Hey kids, you may have missed it in all the ridiculous coverage of the Tiger Woods saga (or in the — mostly — less ridiculous coverage of the upcoming escalation in Afghanistan), but nominations for the 2010 Grammys were announced last night. Happily, the Recording Academy saw fit to nominate A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All! in the “Best Comedy Album” category. Here’s his competition:

As you can see from the post’s title (if you didn’t already know), it’s World AIDS Day , a day to fight for increased awareness of the disease, education on how to prevent its spread, and tolerance toward those who are HIV positive or suffering from AIDS. I don’t know how we missed this for so long, but DVIDS (the Digital Video & Imagery Distribution System from military operations) posted some B-roll from the “Stand Up for Heroes” benefit that took place a few weeks back.
