Are the Jonas Brothers That Popular?

It seems not even the mighty brothers Jonas can compete with the force that is Nickelodeon's Saturday evening programming. Just weeks into its first season, JONAS has been moved from its prime Saturday slot to Sunday night.

The Jonas' new show is faring okay, but it's not getting anywhere near the ratings for which the network had hoped. Disney was also disappointed by the ticket sales for the Jonas Brothers' 3-D movie a couple of months ago, which failed to meet projected estimates. What's more, the trio's album failed to move the millions upon millions of copies that fellow teen stars Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift have with their respective albums.

So what's the deal?

The NYTimes thinks that maybe the brothers - who sing and play their own instruments - are maybe just a little too credible. People love them for their music, and not necessarily for their scripted TV show. Who would've thought being talented would ever be potentially detrimental to one's career?
