Extreme chair addiction?

By Susan on  From lewister.blogspot.com
There are a whole whopping two butts in our household. (Not counting the dog’s.) So you start to wonder when every time I turn around, I need to buy another chair for a room. Just how many chairs can two people need? We have eight dining chairs, 10 folding chairs, a camp chair, two office chairs and a vanity stool currently. On my shopping list are three occasional chairs for the family room, a chair for my sewing room, four barstools for the kitchen, two patio seats and a big cushy chair for...Read Full Story

Bookpile: December 2010

By Susan on  From susanvillaslewis.com
Seriously. How did I forget to do this one? Too busy with my head down, working my ass off. (Literally. I’ve lost 14 pounds since Thanksgiving. Thank you, thank you very much.) Launched a new website, worked on my quilt challenge, fleshed out a new Squidoo account, wrote some articles. Which means … I probably have forgotten a few. Nice that you can see what you’ve read recently on the Kindle, though, so I at least can get those. Eleventh Grade Burns – Next book in the Vladimir Tod series...Read Full Story

Ooh – shiny! Avoiding the distraction of new

Photo Credit: Andrew Morrell Photography on flickr. Used under CC BY-ND 2.0 license. Oh, like I’m really one to talk about this subject. I have yet to actually learn how to avoid the “ooh – shiny” syndrome. New projects, topics, issues all spark that engine that runs my hamster wheel. And we’re off and running, leaving whatever I was working on behind. Now, I get things done. I make things happen. I go from A to B. But more often than not, a new … something, anything … comes along and...Read Full Story

You can barf and still be brave

By Susan on  From susanvillaslewis.com
We rode the Loveland Pass yesterday, heading out from Keystone with the plan to make a big circle back through Dillon. Looked fun and challenging, but I thought I could handle it. What Google Maps fails to tell you is that this rode is 2000 feet straight up and 2000 feet straight down. Oh, and that there are those sheer drop-off cliffs right along the side of the road with no guardrails so you get a good look of where you’ll end up if you go off the road. It’s the kind of road I feared...Read Full Story

Waiting for the magic that’s never coming

By Susan on  From susanvillaslewis.com
Giving out more free and vague marketing advice to people wanting to copy my hire a boss concept. The most common thing I say? I had magic (AKA Seth Godin) on my side. You can’t build a marketing plan around that. My success is deceiving. (Well, the speed of it, at least. I was going to kick butt even without the magic. Photo Credit: pasukaru76 on flickr (CC BY 2.0) The problem for most people who write me is that they think the internet is magic. And just doing “something” on the net...Read Full Story
