Happy election day to you!! I hope you're going to vote today. (Debates on whether I should be encouraging anyone who might not be an informed voter to vote aside. Although I'm sure none of my readers would be uninformed, right?) We went to vote last week in early voting. And while I'm extremely happy that the election is finally here and about to be done with, I've had a good run with political lenses this year. My favorite one was on throwing an election night watching party . And not just because I made good money on it. Actually, I think I raked ... Read Full Story

So I was spending sometime at the mall recently. Not my usual hang-out, but it does allow for some good market research. So what was I seeing in the stores? Lots and lots of scarves. On mannequins, mind. It's 100 degrees right now in Texas, so no one's actually wearing these right now. We're into tank tops and flip flops at the moment. Of all the times to take a vacation. I'm sitting on the plane after we landed in New York Friday and we get the new via hubby's iPhone that McCain has actually named Sarah Palin as his VP pick. No way to update my Sarah Palin lens, which was sitting on page one of Google for a search on the woman. Well, how bad could ... Read Full Story

Well, with the publication of my lens on Amanda Seyfried (of Mamma Mia and Veronica Mars fame), I have passed my goal of 125 lenses. Rah. I thought I'd be more excited than this. But you know, as the list has gotten longer (and the competition keeps growing!), I'm finding myself a little blah about a bunch of my stuff. It feels as though I have far too many lenses in the basement (although I understand why each one is there) and far too little in the $ column (and that was the second part of the goal - making more affiliate money). I'm ... Read Full Story

Driving around today, I had NPR on and a caller in to the Diane Rheem show was talking about her disappointment in the outcome of the Democratic race to date. Turned out she was a Hillary supporter and her comments were - "I really wanted a woman president. I wanted to see that in my lifetime." Wow. Anyone else have a problem with that comment? My first thought was - are you not expecting to live four to eight more years? Seriously. People act as though the fact that Hillary didn't get in this time means the end of women's chances to hold the ... Read Full Story
