During their 1969 American tour, the Stones were introduced and since referred to as "The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World." They are also one of the longest running and most successful acts in show business: often grossing more than any other act the years that they tour and placing every album of primarily new studio material in the top 5 in the United States. In 1989 The Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and were rated #4 in Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
