Pope approves document on Anglicans joining church

From:  reuters.com
VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Benedict has approved a document that would make it easier for Anglicans to join the Roman Catholic Church. The move comes after years of discontent in the 70 million-strong worldwide Anglican community about the liberal attitudes of some parts of the church toward women priests and homosexual bishops. The Vatican said on Tuesday that the document, known as an "apostolic constitution," would provide a structure for Anglicans who want to join Catholicism, either... Read Full Story

Conservative Anglo-Catholicism Dominated by Gay Men?

I bookmarked a post by Andrew Sullivan a couple days a go and had forgotten it until this morning since the boyfriend and I will be attending Catholic mass with my mother - it means a lot to her and I basically hold my nose and go in order to please her. The experience is always interesting watching the various Dominican priest who run the university parish and guessing which ones, if not all, are closeted gays (the pastor of the downtown parish is definitely a queen). Then, of course, there... Read Full Story

U.S. Supreme Court Refuses to Block Release of Abuse Documents

In a move that I wish had come earlier so that perhaps some of the Catholic sheeple in Maine might have been repulsed enough to ignore the calls for ant-gay bigotry by the Diocese of Portland, the United States Supreme Court will not block the release of more than 12,000 pages of sexual abuse files involving clergy in the Diocese of Bridgeport. I suspect that these files contain some horrific details and will show a thorough corrupt and morally bankrupt Church hierarchy. Among the wrong... Read Full Story

Vatican Tells Gay Tourists to Stay Away?

Now the Evil Empire, a/k/a the Roman Catholic Church, is making it clear that GLBT tourists should stay clear of the Vatican and by analogy I assume all Catholic churches in general. Why? Because our mere physical presence is "a provocation and an abuse." That's right if you're gay being inside of St. Peter's Basilica and other Catholic churches is an abuse of the buildings. The irony, of course, is that if all the closeted gays in the Vatican bureaucracies and the Pope's residence left, the... Read Full Story

The Vatican has condemned Hallowe'en as anti-Christian, saying it is based on a sinister and dangerous "undercurrent of occultism". By Nick Squires in Rome Telegraph- Children knock on the front door of a house dress in Hallowe'en costume: Vatican condemns Hallowe'en as anti-Christian The Roman Catholic Church has become alarmed in recent years by the spread of Hallowe'en traditions from the US to other countries around the world Photo: PA The Holy See has warned that parents should not allow... Catholics Are the New Mormons

In the aftermath of the passage of Proposition 8 there was much coverage of the large amounts of money spent and covert operations undertaken by the Mormon Church in securing the measure's passage. Now, with gay marriage voided by a referendum in Maine, it appears that the newest villain to be exposed is the Roman Catholic Church - the same false pillar of morality that has utterly failed to discipline its hierarchy that enabled and covered up for sexual predators who preyed on children and... Pope elevates 5 new saints, 1 for work in Hawaii

From:  ap.org
Pope Benedict XVI canonized five new saints Sunday, including a 19th century priest whose work with leprosy patients on a Hawaiian island has been hailed by U.S. President Barack Obama as inspiring those helping AIDS sufferers in today's world. Among the pilgrims packing St. Peter's Basilica was Hawaii resident Audrey Toguchi, an 80-year-old retired teacher whose recovery from lung cancer a decade ago was called miraculous by the Vatican. She had prayed to Belgium-born Jozef De Veuster, more... Read Full Story
