DALLAS, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Dallas residents say their lives were affected by the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in the city 46 years ago Sunday. Those who were old enough to remember the president's assassination first-hand told Sunday's Dallas Morning News it had varying effects on them. said Doris Falls, 73, who was in labor with twin boys at Dallas' Parkland Memorial Hospital when the motorcade bearing the fatally wounded Kennedy pulled up. added Gary Mack, curator of The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. Sharon Boyd of McKinney, Texas, told the Morning News. Copyright 2009 by United Press International All Rights ... Read Full Story

Tune into Discovery tonight for an episode of the all-new CSI: Dallas. OK, it isn't really another CSI spinoff. But the new documentary JFK: Inside the Target Car does apply modern CSI-style technology to the assassination of 46-year-old U.S. President John F. Kennedy, which took place 46 years ago to the day. The revelations are stunning. JFK was murdered as his motorcade drove through Dealey Plaza in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963. We all know the basics of the story — the arrest of Lee Harvey Oswald, his subsequent murder, countless conspiracy theories — so there's no need to detail them here. But ... Read Full Story

What was possibly the last autograph signed by President John F. Kennedy sold recently at an auction with other items linked to his assassination. Later that day he was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald. The date of Kennedy's assassination was on the paper near his signature. The winning bid of $39,000 was placed by Joe Maddalena, president and owner of Profiles in History in Calabassas, California. Billco's Autograph Collecting ... Read Full Story

It was a day in November. A warm day in November. They let us out early from school. The teachers were somber. Some teachers were crying. I walked home thinking, “How could this be?” “How could this be?” It’s on the TV. It’s all that is on TV. Questions. Did he do it on his own, or were others involved? A policeman named Tibbet is dead. The president is dead. Lyndon Johnson, right hand raised, Taking the oath of office on the plane. A book depository in Dallas. Three shots fired. From the sixth floor. A place called Dealey Plaza. A grassy knoll, people ... Read Full Story

The quick crack of gunshots in Dallas's Dealey Plaza that terminated the life and presidency of John Fitzgerald Kennedy continues to reverberate 33 years later. But the shock of the assassination is now overshadowed by dismay over the ruthless cover-up of what may be the greatest unsolved crime of the century. Any new theories? Where do you stand on the old theories? Is the Warren Report conclusion (for all the flaws in its investigation) beginning to worm its way into your heart? Did the assassination change your life? Did it (and successive assassinations) change your vision of America? Your vision of the world? Or is it irrelevant that there’s still doubt warranted (pun intended). Irrelevant in toto? (the Latin word, not Dorothy’s dog). I’ve been...
