The Smashing Pumpkins are one of the most influential alternative rock bands in history. They formed in Chicago in 1988, broke up a couple times and reformed in 2005.

They consisted of Billy Corgan (vocals, guitar), James Iha (guitar), D'arcy Wretzky (bass) and Jimmy Chamberlin (drums) for the majority of their recording career.

Word broke today that the Smashing Pumpkins will be releasing their new single G.L.O.W. as part of a DLC pack fror Guitar Hero World Tour. The pack will include the hits 1979 and The Everlasting Gaze. No details yet on cost or the exact date of release other than “post launch”. Additionally, vocalist Billy Corgan will be a playable character in the game and brings with him on-disc the hit single Today, confirming another song on the “leaked list“.
