Former The Smiths bassist Andy Rourke insists the legendary band is unlikely to reunite, because singer Morrissey is difficult to get in touch with. Rourke has had little contact with Morrissey, who now lives in Los Angeles, since the British band split in 1987. Read more! Read Full Story

Burn After Reading : I realize this got mixed reviews at best, but I liked this film. I laughed out loud. Some say it's making fun for the sake of making fun. There are no sympathetic characters. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.* Well I say phooey on them. There's one sympathetic character, although, yes, maybe he's a bit delusional and crazy. And another who plays a minor role. And there's a slew of half-sympathetic characters. But here's what I loved: It's as if the Coen Brothers are saying (and forgive me for putting words in their mouths, especially if they don't like the taste of them), ... Read Full Story

Shyness is nice, and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You'd like to

Shyness is nice, and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You'd like to

So, if there's something you'd like to try
If there's something you'd like to try
ASK ME - I WON'T SAY "NO" - HOW COULD I?

Coyness is nice, and
Coyness can stop you
From saying all the things in
Life you'd like to

So, if there's something you'd like to try
If there's something you'd like to try
ASK ME - I WON'T SAY "NO" - HOW COULD I?

Spending warm Summer days indoors
Writing frightening verse
To a buck-toothed girl in Luxembourg

ASK ME, ASK ME, ASK ME
ASK ME, ASK ME, ASK ME

Because if it's not Love
Then it's the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb
That will bring us together

Nature is a language - can't you read?
Nature is a language - can't you read?

SO ... ASK ME, ASK ME, ASK ME
ASK ME, ASK ME, ASK ME

Because if it's not Love
Then it's the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb, the Bomb
That will bring us together

If it's not Love
Then it's the Bomb
Then it's the Bomb
That will bring us together

SO ... ASK ME, ASK ME, ASK ME
ASK ME, ASK ME, ASK ME

Every day you must say
So, how do I feel about my life ?
Anything is hard to find
When you will not open your eyes
When will you accept yourself ?
I am sick and I am dull
And I am plain
How dearly I'd love to get carried away
Oh, but dreams have a knack of just not coming true

And time is against me now...oh

Oh, who and what to blame ?
Oh, anything is hard to find

When you will not open your eyes
When will you accept yourself, for heaven's sake ?
Anything is hard to find
When you will not open your eyes

Every day you must say
Oh, how do I feel about the past ?

Others conquered love - but I ran
I sat in my room and I drew up a plan

Oh, but plans can fall through (as so often they do)
And time is against me now...

And there's no-one left to blame
Oh, tell me when will you ...
When will you accept your life?
(The one that you hate)
For anything is hard to find
When you will not open your eyes

Every day you must say
Oh, how do I feel about my shoes?
They make me awkward and plain
How dearly I would love to kick with the fray ...

But I once had a dream
(and it never came true)
And time is against me now...
Time is against me now...

And there's no one but yourself to blame
Oh, anything is hard to find
When you will not open your eyes
Anything is hard to find; for heaven's sake!

Anything is hard to find
When you will not open your eyes
When will you accept yourself?

When?
When?
When?
When?

Call me morbid, call me pale
I've spent six years on your trail
Six long years
On your trail

Call me morbid, call me pale
I've spent six years on your trail
Six full years of my life on your trail

And if you have five seconds to spare
Then I'll tell you the story of my life
Sixteen, clumsy and shy
I went to London and I
I booked myself in at the Y ... W.C.A.
I said : "I like it here - can I stay?
I like it here - can I stay?
Do you have a vacancy
For a Back-scrubber?

She was left behind, and sour
And she wrote to me, equally dour
She said In the days when you were
Hopelessly poor
I just liked you more...

And if you have five seconds to spare
Then I'll tell you the story of my life
Sixteen, clumsy and shy
I went to London and I
I booked myself in at the Y ... W.C.A.
I said I like it here - can I stay?
I like it here - can I stay?
And do you have a vacancy
For a Back-scrubber?

Call me morbid, call me pale
I've spent too long on your trail
Far too long
Chasing your tail
Oh...

And if you have five seconds to spare
Then I'll tell you the story of my life
Sixteen, clumsy and shy
That's the story of my life
Sixteen, clumsy and shy
The story of my life
That's the story of my life
That's the story of my life
That's the story of my life
The story of my life
That's the story of my life
That's the story of my life
That's the story of my life
That's the story of my life
That's the story of my life
That's the story...
In the warm-up tape for Russell Brand's biggest ever Irish show, one song nails his persona perfectly -- Bigmouth Strikes Again by The Smiths. A Smiths obsessive who even christened his cat Morrissey, Brand is also well known for his love of West Ham United and, most famously, sex.

From his days with The Smiths on, Morrissey has always put as much emphasis on singles as albums, crafting even the humblest release into a well-considered dispatch. That’s been a boon to hardcore fans, but it’s also meant that those not wanting to chase after the latest UK-only release for a rare B-side have missed out on some fine music, sometimes better than the tracks that made it onto Morrissey’s proper albums. Swords compiles 18 B-sides...

Everyone knows Morrissey. He’s that loveable vegan from Manchester who complains about everything and then goes in to a big vegetable huff when things go pear-shaped. Only a couple of weeks ago, he collapsed at a gig in Swindon. Perhaps he saw what the people there looked like and wanted out. Pronto. In the latest shenanigan involving the former Smiths front man, he got pelted with a plastic cup of water in Liverpool. Now he didn’t fall over...

OH HELLO
I am the ghost of Troubled Joe
Hung by his pretty white neck
Some eighteen months ago
I travelled to a mystical time zone
And I missed my bed
And I soon came home

They said :
"There's too much caffeine
In your bloodstream
And a lack of real spice
In your life"

I said :
"Leave me alone
Because I'm alright, dad
Surprised to still
Be on my own..."

Oh, but don't mention love
I'd hate the strain of the pain again
A rush and a push and the land that
We stand on is ours
It has been before
So it shall be again
And people who are uglier than you and I
They take what they need, and just leave

Oh, but don't mention love
I'd hate the pain of the strain all over again
A rush and a push and the land that
We stand on is ours
It has been before
So why can't it be now ?
And people who are weaker than you or I
They take what they want from life

Oh, but don't mention love
No - no, don't mention love !
A rush and a push and the land that
We stand on is ours
Your youth may be gone
But you're still a young man
So phone me, phone me, phone me
So phone me, phone me, phone me

Oh, I think I'm in love
Oh, I think I'm in love
Oh, I think I'm in love (think I'm in love)
Urrgh, I think I'm in lerv
Oh ...
