It is an unusual young opera singer who gets glowing reviews in pantomime as
well as for classical roles. An attractive natural blonde and a feisty
popular performer with an ebullient personality, the mezzo-soprano Amy Black
took to the stage with Cannon and Ball as Fairy Bowbells in Dick Whittington
at the New Theatre in Hull and made a success of singing for Hull City
football club before their home games. She was also a star attraction...
Actor Joseph Gannascoli as a gay mobster A gunman for the Gambino family has taken the unusual and dangerous step of outing himself as homosexual, as a gambit to obtain a lower sentence for killing a Queens bagel store owner in 2003. As well as being fans of David Simon's Baltimore drama, The Wire, Jo and I are massive fans of The Sopranos. In fact, it was Jo that got me into it a few years back. Anyway, because there is next to nothing good on the telly these days, or maybe just because we're interminable sad acts, we're re-watching The Sopranos all the way through and at the beginning of series two; there is an episode called Nobody Knows Anything. This seems kind of apt...
