The U.S. Open (Tennis)

The last of four Grand Slam events of the year takes place in New York when the top tennis players in the world battle it out for the U.S. Open title.

The 2007 U.S. Open

The 2007 U.S. Open will be held from 27 August to 9 September 2007, at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows, New York City.

Roger Federer could break several different records if he defends his title, including becoming the first man in the open era to win four consecutive U.S. Open titles.

On 11 July 2007, it was announced that the prize money for the men and women's singles champions would increase by $200,000 to a record $1.4m. This is marginally lower than the Wimbledon prize fund but higher than the other two Grand Slam titles.
