According to Wikipedia.org: The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, are a classification of vices used in early Christian teachings to educate and protect followers from fallen man's tendency to sin. The Roman Catholic Church divides sin into two types: venial and capital or mortal. Beginning in the early 14th century, the popularity of the seven deadly sins with artists of the time ingrained them in human culture around the world.
For the past 15-plus years, organisations have turned to test automation as a way to improve efficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle. Yet despite heavy investment, software testing is still often the bottleneck in the delivery cycle. In a recent survey of CIOs, Original Software found that only 6% were totally happy with their automation. The scary thing is that this is tolerated - It’s the norm!read more

The Sin: Lust is one sin that I have had difficulty linking to one’s soccer ability. After all, some of the greatest players in recent world history (including both Ronaldos and Mr. Rooney) and from the past (George Best, Eusebio) were lusty lads. Now, Rocky Balboa’s trainer believed the physical act of love could drain an athlete of energy, and thus jeopardize his chances of victory. Yet, other players believe they have to hump before halftime or they will lose. The Sinners: I define “lust” as “a self-destructive appetite for sex”. Lusty people (aka “nymphos”) have very little self control, and they usually cave ...

The Sin: Gluttony is one of the most digusting sins, and Maradona exemplifies it in the pic at left. By the time this shot was taken, the man who was the best player in the world (maybe ever) had indulged himself to excess on food, wine and drugs. He failed to abide by Proverbs 23:21, which states that “[f]or the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty; and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.” Gluttony wages an ugly war vs. the virtue of moderation. The Sinners: When it comes to the US Nats, the most famous glutton ever is likely Clint Mathis, ...

The Sin: When I was a kid, I didn’t know Spielberg’s The Goonies was one of the weirdest movies ever . I mean, the bad guys literally keep their ”special” kin chained in the basement where he has absolutely nothing to do. As he was a pretty idle guy, it was fitting they named him Sloth. After all, according to Proverbs 19:15, ”slothfulness castesth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hungry.” It makes sense, right? He was awfully hungry for Chunk’s Baby Ruth. The Sinners: Why am I rambling about The Goonies ? I have no idea. This post is ...

The Sin: For those of you who were wondering: yes, that is a miniature inflatable Skeletor. As regular readers know, I have christened Bob Bradley “Skeletor” due to the resemblance his bony visage shares with that of He-Man’s nemesis. I don’t mean the nickname as a slight, mind you, I just think both men share a sometimes wrathful look, which isn’t necessarily a good thing. After all, “the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God” according to James 1:20. The Sinners: Bradley is a pretty patient manager though (maybe too patient), so his wrath concerns me little. I am worried about Bradley ...

The Sin: Envy has always been associated with the color green, probably in a large part thanks to the Bard’s classic Othello . In that play, the jealousy that accompanies envy is referred to as ”the green-eyed monster”. Proverbs 23:17 also warns against it, stating that one should ”Let not thine heart envy sinners, but be thou in the fear of the Lord.” Envy can make us resent a person simply because they have had some good fortune. It’s why we hate Tom Brady. The Sinners: When it comes to the US soccer team, several players exhibit envious tendencies. The vets hoping to revive ...
