Daily Obsession: Hanky Panky

Yes, I just discovered Hanky Panky underwear, and I fully accept that this may elicit a big “DUH!” from everyone.

Consider it in part a by product of a) the store only carrying one type of underwear (and one that I own in all color/pattern combinations), and b) for all intents and purposes my living and acting like an old married woman for the past few years.

However, as I am in actuality a newly minted married woman, I suddenly found myself gifted with more new pairs of underwear than you can shake a stick at. Much like my recent bra buying experience, I was forced to confront the fact that I am woefully behind the times in some regards when it comes to anything and everything that goes under the clothing.

Clearly my friends know me well, so the bulk of my faux bachelorette party bounty was in the form of sensible but cute cotton boyshorts. However, one friend was bold enough to give me not one, but two pairs of Hanky Panky underwear, including one thong.

All I can say is that Hanky Panky’s claim to have “the world’s most comfortable thong” seems to be pretty accurate to me. I would have never thought that I would push a thong onto anyone (I’ve always regarded any female claim to love thongs with a healthy dose of skepticism), but I am now a Hanky Panky convert.

What impresses me most is that it’s not a cute lingerie line pretending to offer comfort*, where the * equals “well, kind of comfortable compared to the majority of thongs.” They actually pass the all day wear test, and looking at Hanky Panky’s site, I was not at all surprised to discover that the company was founded by two women.

So, consider me obsessed, if a little late to the Hanky Panky party. Next daily obsession will probably be the automatic gearshift.
