Hello again...let me just get right into it. There's always so much going on: Thursday, Oct. 11 As if Morgan students didn't have enough to do already, the S Squad felt the need to throw something at Club One (300 E. Saratoga St). I actually like this club...they have four levels representing the different elements of the Earth like Fire, Water, Air and ...what's the last one? I guess Earth. ------------------------------------------------------ Friday, Oct. 12 So Mz. Kitti , the host of that XM Radio show called "Raw" is celebratin' her b'day at Love (1350 Okie St.). (Shout out to all Libras!) Still...no one knows ... Read Full Story

Holiday time means party time and party time often means potluck. Personally, I am not a fan, but still, I am here to offer a few guidelines for minding your potluck p's and q's. These suggested rules may be more applicable to "the work potluck" or the potluck where nobody is really friends but somehow feels forced to eat together. My personal mantra is "Friends don't make friends eat potluck." Because, well, even the name is kind of scary. 1) Rude or FOOD? Before designating your party a potluck, it is a good idea to see if this type of menu is actually suitable ... Read Full Story

There are many reasons to throw a party and even more books about it. Here’s a few helpful guides and places to find inspiration, recipes and how to’s for all of you entertaining endeavors. Here’s Eddie Ross from Top Design and a blog I am addicted to making a Prosecco Cocktail for NYE. Seeing ... Read Full Story

Shrimp is low in fat and calories. It has beneficial doses of omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin B12, niacin, iron, zinc, and copper. It is actually high in cholesterol, but the American Heart Association has shown in studies that it does not adversely affect cholesterol levels. Plus, it is really delicious. I have made boiled shrimp for my family for many years. It is very quick and easy. I usually pour it out of the pot into a colander, and serve it directly from that. I use the leftovers as shrimp cocktail. I much prefer homemade cocktail sauce, but ready-made cocktail sauce will save ... Read Full Story

If you missed the Moet at Vin Lounge (One E. Joppa Road) I heard you missed out. I heard Vin was poppin' like Lil Mama's lipgloss...the event was sponsored by Moet and according to a source (T.Dot) it seemed like everyone had their fare share. DJ Drama was also killin' them on the 1's and 2's (I heard Brian tried to do a little something on the tables...hmmm??). Our source also mentioned that everyone got jigged out to ring in the '08 and the best thing about Vin was that there were plenty of bartenders so no one had to wait for drinks. Lushessss... “Touch Down!” Personally, I couldn’t give a crap about the SuperBowl . This evening I’ll be watching some Netfix , then Big Love and Flight of the Conchords in a blissfully Football-free wonderland. And I already had a big lunch at Gonzalez Y Gonzalez (hey, $5 Margaritas at the bar!) so I won’t be eating again tonight. But it I were to attend a Superbowl party (say, because I lost a bet) I sure would be happy to see this stadium made of tasty snacks waiting for me to sample. Here’s what’s in it: Ingredients: The Field: 1 Pound of Guacamole 15 Oz. Queso ... Read Full Story

I know, Halloween is on Saturday, so you figure there will be plenty of time to put together a costume for your Halloween party. But, you know what happens? By the time you prep your home, shop for the food and drinks, and decorate, you still won't have a costume. That's why you might want to consider a simple costume, such as Julia Child with an apron, rolling pin and chef's toque; static cling, with socks pinned all over yourself; or, the...
