Lincecum led the NL with 261 strikeouts and tied for the league lead with four complete games and two shutouts. Lincecum, 15-7 with a 2.48 earned run average for the Giants, received fewer first-place votes than Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright in the balloting of members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America but won in a close vote.
