Urban Meyer on the impact Tim Tebow has had on him: “He’s had the same impact on me that he has on college football. He’s had that on my children….the unselfishness and his mission outside of college football is unparalleled as far as I’m concerned. The impact he’s made, it’s almost like selflessness is now a cool thing. Kids realizing to give back, if you can brighten someone’s day, you do it...It's very noticeable behind closed doors more than probably what you guys see.” And then this: “We’re going to have no more interviews this week, man," Meyer joked afterward. “It’s going to be ... Tracey McInnis of the Calling All Gators - A Gift for Tim Tebow Facebook group has issued the following request: Gator fans, we have had the amazing privilege of watching THE greatest college football player EVER, play for four years. On January 11th, 2009, Tim Tebow gave us the gift of one more year. The biggest reason he came back was because college football provided him a platform to share his message. We, as Gator fans, have an unbelievable opportunity to give Tim Tebow an experience he will never forget. My suggestion is that for Timmy's last game in The Swamp, the Florida - ... Read Full Story

Sometimes we think we're the only ones really enjoying this season. We love defense, and love to hear about the good old days of the SEC when running backs dominated the field - Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson - and the tales of mighty victories that had scores like 24-23. Apparently those are truly days of old, because no one seems to like watching powerhouses like Florida and Alabama win like that any more. Case in point, Ivan Maisel of ESPN fame. His column for this week, "I want my money back." And here how he describes Tebow and the Gators: Tim Tebow is ... Read Full Story

Ben Volin has a good story on why the Gators, in particular Riley Cooper's, helmets keeps flying off in games. And apparently Coach Meyer has done a little investigating: Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes lost his helmet at least twice in the nasty contest against Georgia three weeks ago. Receiver Riley Cooper has lost his helmet more than half a dozen times this season. Florida coach Urban Meyer said Wednesday that helmet safety is a growing concern. “I investigated myself – what the heck are these things coming off for more than ever?” Meyer said Wednesday. What we want to know, is why Coach Meyer ... Read Full Story

Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators steam rolled over Florida International University.  The Gators jumped on the Golden Panthers, as if there ever was any doubt.   One thing has become clear for the Florida Gators, they are absolutely and certainly bored.  Sure, they will absolutely trample the cupcakes of college football, and they will win ugly against all other opponents.  But win they do.   They've come to a point when they just don't care...

Today during his weekly press conference, Urban Meyer dismissed the notion of leaving the University of Florida for Notre Dame if and when Charlie Weis is dismissed as the Fighting Irish's head coach.  He did, however, admit something that is something I personally overlooked as a distinct possibility. How does Head Coach Tim Tebow sound to the Gator Nation? Meyer said that he could see Tebow as the future head coach for the University of...

At this point in a season the Heisman Trophy race has probably never been more congested. There's simply no clear-cut leader right now. Over the years the Heisman trophy has become an exclusive award for only quarterbacks, and the occasional running back. Wide receivers and defensive players often get wrongly overlooked. It looks like it will happen again this season. There are a handful of players who are deserving of the Heisman trophy who...

Mark Ingram, Toby Gerhart, C.J. Spiller, Case Keenum, Colt McCoy, and Tim Tebow are the players being considered for the ever-so-biased Heisman Trophy. All of these players have one of two qualities: quality stats or winning teams. But Kellen Moore has both. Moore is the leader of the number one ranked Boise Stats offense. They are averaging 44.6 points per game and also averaging 456 yards per game. These are very impressive team stats, but...
