Five important facts about Tina Fey: 1) She won a Golden Globe Award for 30 Rock, for which she is a star, writer and executive producer. 2) 30 Rock is based loosely on her days at Saturday Night Live where Fey was a writer. 3) In 1999, Fey became the first head writer for SNL. 4) She wrote the script and starred in Mean Girls. 5) In 2007, Tina Fey was chosen as one of the 100 People Who Shape Our World by Time magazine.

In high-school, Tina Fey considered herself a "supernerd" and this formed the basis of her movie "Mean Girls".

A friend encouraged her to send samples of her work to Saturday Night Live and soon after she was working there, eventually rising to the position of co-head writer. One of the significant things she did was to revive 'Weekend Update' with her co-anchor, Jimmy Fallon.

Tina also writes and appears in 30 Rock on NBC.

Tina has one child with husband and SNL band musician Jeff Richmond.
