A community portal about Tito Ortiz with blogs, videos, and photos. Jacob C. "Tito" Ortiz aka "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" is an American mixed martial arts fighter from Huntington Beach, California. Born to an American mother and a Mexican father, he spent many nights in juvenile detention facilities as a child. At the age of 13 his mother separated from his father and moved Tito and his brothers from Santa Ana back to Huntington Beach. As a former Light Heavyweight UFC champion, Ortiz became one of the sport's biggest stars, headlining several pay per view championship cards, and appearing on the covers of various magazines, such as Black Belt Magazine. Ortiz is recognized as a charismatic, if controversial and highly-criticized fighter.

SUNRISE, Fla. -- High-profile free-agent light heavyweight Tito Ortiz will be cageside as a guest of EliteXC for tonight's CBS broadcast of "Heat." And while the "Huntington Beach Bad Boy" recently revealed to MMAjunkie.com that he will be out of commission for the next six months, a deal may be signed this month to bring the former UFC champion to EliteXC. Ortiz eliminated Affliction and the American Fight League as possibilities for his future home, and he said a return to the UFC is just as unlikely given the type of contract he's demanding -- one he thinks could help other fighters while changing ... The feud that Josh Koscheck and Diego Sanchez brought into last night’s UFC 69 event could soon have a match at UFC 73, thanks to main-card combatants Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans. The two light-heavyweight contenders, who meet on the Vegas fight card on July 7, had to be broken apart at last night’s festivities, according to a variety of eyewitnesses, including a couple UFCjunkie.com roving reporters who were on the scene. No punches were thrown, and the encounter consisted of little more than some yelling and chest-thumping. The two fighers were separated from the ringside encounter before anything especially newsworthy happened. Ortiz was ... Read Full Story

Lorenzo Fertitta, the co-owner of UFC, recently went to Capitol Hill to discuss the problems facing UFC with respect to online piracy. He told the House Judiciary Committee that some 140,000 people watched UFC 106, the company’s November pay-per-view event headline by Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Grifin, online using various streaming sites. UFC had identified 271 unauthorized streams, which is where the 140,000-person estimate comes from. The WWE...

I'll admit I feel duped.  For years I ranted about how overrated and irrelevant Tito Ortiz was. However,  I recently bought into his explanation about being "back" now that his back was fixed.  I even went so far as to write an article reassessing my thoughts and feelings on Ortiz. Sometimes, I wish I had a time machine so I can take that article back. Ortiz has been officially tapped to coach opposite UFC hall-of-famer Chuck Liddell for the...

It looks like season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter is already more interesting than this past season. By naming Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell this year's coaches, the UFC has done both fighters a huge favor as well as announced to the world, that neither man will be in contention for the UFC light-heavyweght title ever again. That, in and of itself, is a huge plus. This wasn't a fact that most fans weren't already aware of, but if you were to...

Due to the demise of Affliction, the UFC were able to snatch up several top-ranked fighters, including former UFC Light Heavyweight champion, Vitor Belfort. Their ultra-deep pool of athletes will continue to rise in 2010 as we’ll see some fresh new faces emerge as legitimate forces in the Octagon. Ultimately, every MMA fan is hoping...

Beating a dead horse. A phrase I've learned to love, but a phrase that I hope to avoid in this article. We've all heard everyone's take on the Ortiz-Griffin fight Saturday, from Tito fans insisting upon a rematch to settle the 1-1 tie to Forrest fans insisting that Forrest is back. I agree with both, but that's not what I'm here for. At UFC 106, Griffin and Ortiz engaged in the long—and I mean long—awaited rematch of their UFC 59 battle...

Very few athletes, in very few sports have the longevity to make a career last into their late 30s and some into their 40s. In MMA you have someone like Randy Couture, and heck, throw Mark Coleman's name in there since he won his last fight. Look at Brett Favre in the NFL, potentially an MVP this season, Chris Chelios in hockey, and many others have done it over the years. But, this is not about those people, because Tito Ortiz will not be one...
