A community portal about Tobacco smoking with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: Tobacco smoking, often referred to as "smoking", is the act of burning the dried or cured leaves of the tobacco plant and inhaling the smoke for pleasure or ritualistic purposes, or more commonly out of habit and to satisfy addiction. The practice was common among Native Americans of The Plains Indian religion, and was later introduced to the rest of the world by sailors following European exploration of the Americas.
The simple fact is that you know smoking is not good for you. In fact, nobody has to tell you to quit; you know you ought to quit. The irony is that when more people tell you to quit, you naturally want to quit less.
The truth is that nobody can force you, make you quit and chances are you have already tried more than once to quit. Let me guess, did you smoke the ‘just one’ cigarette?
Before you knew it, you probably started at ground zero again. This cycle can go on and on and many... Read Full Story

Do you live with a heavy smoker, or someone who smokes at all? Do you chew any form of... Read Full Story
ATLANTA (AP) — A smoking ban in one Colorado city led to a dramatic drop in heart attack hospitalizations within three years, a sign of just how serious a health threat secondhand smoke is,
government researchers said Wednesday. The study, the longest-running of its kind, showed the rate of hospitalized cases dropped 41 percent in the three years after the ban of workplace smoking in Pueblo, Colo., took effect. There was no such drop in two neighboring areas, and researchers believe it’s a... Read Full Story

I created this page to aid Swedish Snus aficionado's and duped (or born without taste-buds) Americans who THINK they're enjoying "real" snus when they stuff portions of the evil Camel and Marlboro psuedo-snus marketed in the United States under their poor, unfortunate lip. It has links to all my posts on snus on this one page and there's even a 10% off banner to SnusCENTRAL.com : YOUR Snus Store and More! 1976 True cigarette ad The U.S. Supreme Court has given a green light to smokers to sue tobacco companies over the fraudulent marketing of "light," "ultralight" and "low tar" cigarettes. Cigarette companies are currently facing around 40 such lawsuits. For decades, advertising lulled smokers into believing that so-called "light" and "low tar" cigarettes were better for their health. Smokers in Maine, however, sued Philip Morris , charging that the company was aware for decades that smokers... Read Full Story
Amid an increasingly hostile climate towards secondhand smoke and tobacco advertising , tobacco companies are battling to maintain both their nicotine markets and the ability to use their logos. R.J. Reynolds stopped advertising cigarettes in magazines in 2008, but is once again printing its Camel logo in major magazines like Rolling Stone , Sports Illustrated and Maxim , in ads for a new form of non-combusted tobacco called "snus" (rhymes with "moose"). Snus is a form of chewing tobacco... Read Full Story
Nonsmokers married to smokers have a greatly increased chance of having strokes, according to a U.S. study published on Tuesday showing yet another hazard from secondhand smoke. Being married to a smoker raised the stroke risk by 42 percent in people who have never smoked compared to those married to someone who never smoked, the researchers said. This jumped to 72 percent for former smokers married to a current smoker, according to the study published in the American Journal of Preventive... Read Full Story
This month, I decided to mix things up a little bit. General White Portion has been my snus of choice for quite some time along with Goteborgs Rape'. Lately, though, I've been finding myself a little bored. Unlike cigarette smokers, where (I at least) pretty much settle on a brand and stay with it for years, snus users have the occasional need to switch off to something new. Then when they ultimately come back to their former favorites, it's a new experience again................ ...Read the... Read Full Story
