Perhaps best known for his role as Peter Parker in the "Spider-Man" series, Tobey Maguire began his acting career in the early 1990s with sporadic sitcom appearances. Maguire's film career began to gain momentum in the late 1990s, however, with movies such as "The Ice Storm," "The Cider House Rules" and "Pleasantville."
In 2002, Maguire landed the leading role in "Spider-Man," bringing to end years of speculation regarding which actor would be cast as Peter Parker. Although several of Hollywood's top actors were attached to the project at one time or another, Maguire's bookish charm earned him the role of the troubled super-hero.
Tobey Maguire’s wife Jennifer Meyer has said that he is an “amazing husband”.
The jewellery designer, who has been married to Spider-Man star Maguire for more than two years, said that she believes their marriage will last because he hasn’t lost his wedding ring yet.
“He’s never worn any jewellery before and he warned me when we got married that he’d probably lose the wedding band, so I should make him a couple,” she said.
