Representative Tom Lantos (D) California will be resigning from Congress due to cancer of the esophagus at the end of his current term. Lantos is possibly best known for being the only holocaust survivor to be elected to congress. In 1944 Lantos then just a teenager was sent to a Nazi work camp in Hungary.
