The Lincoln Lawyer was all set it seemed. It had its lead and co-star/director all lined up and was ready to shoot. Unfortunately the co-star/director was Tommy Lee Jones and he has officially jumped ship. Based on a novel written by Michael Connell the story was about a criminal lawyer in L.A. who works out the back of his car while being driven around by a previous client in an attempt to pay off his legal fees. LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Tommy Lee Jones is in negotiations to direct and co-star in "The Lincoln Lawyer," a Matthew McConaughey-starring film based on the 2005 best-seller by Michael Connelly. "Lawyer," which is set up at Lakeshore Entertainment, centers on Mickey Haller, a wheeler-dealer Los Angeles lawyer who operates out of the back of his Lincoln. Haller is content with a career defending garden-variety criminals until he lands the case of a lifetime: defending a Beverly Hills playboy accused of murder. McConaughey is on board to play Haller. The corporate downsizing film written by John Wells already starring Kevin Costner, Ben Affleck and Tommy Lee Jones now has Craig T. Nelson and Maria Bello to star in the drama as well. “…independently financed drama that John Wells wrote and is directing.   Friday night I scorched my throat when we accidentally caught the kitchen on fire.
