Brett Favre has been at his best for the Minnesota Vikings, with 21 touchdown passes and only three interceptions in the first 10 games. The 40-year-old Favre kept up his torrid pace in Sunday's win over Seattle that stretched Minnesota's record to 9-1. He completed a career-high 88 percent of his passes and found the end zone four times.  

Brett Favre will run out of the Lambeau Field tunnel wearing purple, and nobody really knows how Green Bay Packers fans will react. But if the angry buzz generated by the mere appearance of in-stadium video highlights of Favre and the Vikings during the first few Packers home games is any indication, the once-beloved face of the franchise will be booed.  

Jasper Brinkley spent the first 4 1/2 months of his rookie year looking to the Minnesota Vikings' experienced and talented veteran defenders for guidance. When he enters the huddle as the starting middle linebacker on Sunday against Cincinnati, the fifth-round draft pick out of South Carolina will suddenly have Pro Bowlers like Kevin and Pat Williams and Jared Allen looking to him instead.  

Antoine Winfield proved his worth to the Minnesota Vikings last season with his first career Pro Bowl selection, a performance that earned him a fat new contract during the summer. When Winfield got hurt in Sunday's game against Baltimore, the 10-year veteran cornerback's value to the Vikings' defense was plenty vivid during a rough fourth quarter filled with missed tackles.  

Together, they have thrown for more than 56 miles in 31 NFL seasons. Brett Favre and Kurt Warner are still at it, with no sign of diminished abilities, at age 40 and 38, respectively. Each has his team at the top of its division standings. "I don't want to speak for Brett," Warner said, "but I know with me, I play the game now the same way I played it 12 years ago." The lure...  

Brett Favre has been throwing the ball for the Minnesota Vikings much more than he thought he would. Another surprising development? Coach Brad Childress is encouraging it. When Childress and the Vikings finally persuaded Favre to sign with them, many fans and analysts skeptically predicted injuries and interceptions -- and butting heads.
