Visiting a Nude Beach
At some point in your travels there's a good chance you'll run across a nude beach or two.Some are secluded secrets that only insiders and locals know about. Others are well-known beaches where hundreds of people flock to strip down, like at the beautiful and clothing-optional Orient Beach at St. Martin.

If you're feeling the urge to liberate yourself from your day to day modesty and all those binding threads, and expose yourself to the elements of sunshine, wind, and water, there's no better time than now.
But before you go and make some horribly creepy blunder, read up on our suggested nekkid beach behavior below:

1. Knowing where you are
There's a whole range of nekkid-ness that can go on at the beach, from clothing mandatory to clothing optional to nude. In some countries you can (and will) be arrested for stripping down when it's inappropriate. On the flip side, wearing clothes at a nude beach can be considered offensive (especially if you glance around at any of the lovely nekkid-ness around you -- that's a big no no -- but more on this later). Clothing-optional beaches fall in between and you can feel free to wear (or not wear) whatever you like.

2. Stripping down
While in some countries (like France), people can be seen on a nude/clothing-optional beach stripping down from their street clothes straight into their birthday suits, general etiquette is to show up to the beach in your bathing suit (like you would ordinarily) and undress from there.

So you know where you are and you've gotten yourself nekkid. Now what? Enjoy all the same beach activites as you would normally. Tan, swim and stroll. With a few bad behaviors to avoid.
3. Don't gawk!
Whether its something wonderful in front of you or the complete opposite, your mom was right, it's rude to stare. (Especially if you're clothed and the object of your desire is not).
4. Don't take pictures.
Camera's are prohibited at many clothing-optional/nude beaches. But for places where it's ok, only take pictures of you and your friends.
5. Leave the PDA's at home.
Just cuz everyone's nekkid, doesn't mean you can indulge in whatever sexual activity you fancy. Sorry, it's not an orgy.
