Sometimes first impressions are straight up terrible, especially if they occur during a sad Christmas party thrown by your parents. When Bridget (Renee Zellweger) is introduced to a brooding Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), she decides to ease the tension with her chain smoking and verbal diarrhea. It doesn't help that Mark's wearing a terrible reindeer sweater and gives eye rolls better than most teenagers. Bridget Jones's Diary is arguably the best rom-com ever, thanks to the smashing chemistry between Zellweger and Firth. It's impossible not to swoon or self-combust from joy when Mark finally declares his love to Bridget.
